Trail Calculator
Select a previously completed running effort/race from the list, specify your time and press calculate. Predictions of finishing times for a range of other distances/trails will be calculated based on your input. The predictions can be improved by adding a second running effort. Press the toggle button and input fields for a second race will appear. If you change distance/trail in any of the two lists, the predictions will be updated automatically. If you change your running time, you need to press the calculate button to update the predictions.

user-defined distances/trails
The user-defined trails can be modified according to your preferences. You can change name, distance, and type (trail or flat/paved road). Changing the value of "include" from "no" to "yes" will make the trail enabled in the trail selection menus. The profile and terrain factors for the user-defined trails can be modified in the table dedicated to these factors below.
name | distance (km) | type | include |
profile and terrain factors
Tabulated values of profile and terrain factors for all defined distances/trails. The default terrain factors are 0% for paved roads and 20% for trails. The trail profile factors are calculated from the elevation profiles for existing trails. For the generic trails default values are used (0% for paved roads and 3% for trails). If you change the values, the new values will be used in the next calculation.
distance/trail | profile factor (%) | terrain factor (%) |
distance factor
The time estimations are calculated using the Pete Riegel formula:
time_2=time_1*(distance_2/distance_1)**(1.0+df/100.)
The default distance factor (df) is 6%
